Tom the Tiger – Curren signs on

Monday, November 13, 2017 - 9:40 AM

Claremont Football Club is excited to announce the signing of Tom Curren on a two-year deal.

Lured west after spending a year with Sandringham in the VFL where he was named club captain, Curren had previously spent 7 years with St Kilda Football Club making his debut in round 17 of 2013 and went on to play 25 games with a number of frustrating injuries curtailing the chance to add further games beyond 2016.

A strong natural on baller with the ability to play through half forward, a revitalised Curren will not only add firepower to the tigers front half, but even further ball winning ability to a burgeoning midfield already containing 2 Sandover Medallists in Jye Bolton and the returning Kane Mitchell.

The full squad return to the track on Monday 20th November for Preseason in preparation for 2018.

Claremont Football Club goes green!

Friday, November 3, 2017 - 10:22 AM

We're going green, thanks to Mitch Andrews!!

Solar is to be the new power game for Claremont Football Club with the installation of a large 100kW PV solar system on the Club’s roof in December.

This leading-edge solar system, comprising over 300 ‘Tier One’ panels and using the latest SolarEdge optimisation technology, will be installed by Club Ruckman Mitch Andrews through his company GreenTec Energy.

Mitch will be ‘reaching high again’ -- the PV system is expected to generate about 150,000 hours of clean, cheap electricity per year for the Club.

The Tiger’s CEO,  Graham Moss, said he’s delighted that Claremont Football Club has been able to join in the solar transformation occurring throughout Australia. “The system’s environmental impact is an added incentive for the Club as it takes our sustainability efforts in the new building to the next level.

The solar will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 150 tonnes a year  - that’s the equivalent of a forest of mature trees, which is the size of two football ovals” Moss said. “We’re also really pleased that it’s being installed by one of our own players. Mitch has provided us with a PV system well suited to our ongoing needs for a very competitive price and has offered to help sponsor us further through his business.”

GreenTec Energy have recently entered a strategic national solar industry partnership giving them access to an extensive array of well-priced, high quality Tier One equipment (Tier One is the top grade for panel manufacturers), enabling them to reap benefits usually associated with larger organisations. Mitch is offering to donate $50 from each kilowatt of solar purchased by members and sponsors, to the Club.

If you are considering a residential or commercial solar system please contact Mitch Andrews at Greentec 0409 993 141

Fast Facts:

  • The solar system will save 350,000 litres of water each year, that would normally be used by a coal fired power station in the electricity generation process.
  • Reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 150 tonnes is equivalent to:

Greenhouse gas emissions from:

  • 32 passenger cars driven for one year
  • 52.3 tonnes of waste recycled instead of going to landfill

CO2 emissions from:

  • 347 barrels of oil consumed
  • 5,020 incandescent lights switched to LED

Carbon removed from the environment by:

  • 3,887 tree seedlings grown for 10 years

Purchase a Paver & Donate to the Club

Friday, November 3, 2017 - 10:21 AM

Purchase a paver & donate to the club!

To all Claremont Football Club members and supporters

Our new Clubrooms are now finished and operating extremely well.

A great deal of the internal building fit out including players and coaches equipment was funded through the Paver project which was launched in 2012 and had raised approximately $170,000 over the five years of the project. 105 large and 250 small pavers have been installed at the entrance to the building but there is plent of space for more pavers to be installed.

I am pleased to advise that we will be continuing with the paver project which will allow those who don't have a paver to purchase either a large or small paver and have your name etched into the history of the Club in a very visible and tangible way. The funds raised will continie to be directed toweards enhancing our playing and coaching equipment and facilities, for example new ice baths for players and continual enhancement of our player's video editing equipment, upgrading of the oval lights etc.

The pavers are funded through a donation the Australian Sports Foundation and your donation is fully tax deductable. The donation form is available online
